Who represents ALMOSYS, what are our competencies, and why can we offer you solutions to your problems?

The sole proprietorship "Andreas Schimmel – Alpine Monitoring Systems" (ALMOSYS) was founded in 2019 by Andreas Schimmel, with a primary focus on monitoring natural hazards and offering solutions for detection of alpine mass movements, and seismic and infrasound signal analyses

From 2012 to 2019, Andreas Schimmel worked at the Institute of Mountain Risk Engineering at the BOKU University and from 2019 to 2020 at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano on research projects in the field of seismic and infrasound monitoring of natural hazards. He studied electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) and therefore possesses solid knowledge of signal processing and the necessary expertise for developing monitoring and warning systems. During his work at the Automation and Control Institute at TU Wien (2007-2011), he gained extensive experience in research projects involving microcontroller programming, which is used in many projects. In his doctoral thesis "Automatic detection of alpine mass movements based on infrasound and seismic signals" at BOKU University, he developed a warning system based on infrasound and seismic sensors (MAMODIS), one of the main products of this company.
